Sigma Tensiometers

Download Sigma Series Brochure (pdf)
Mass-based tensiometry is a powerful and accurate technique to measure surface / interfacial tension of liquids, and dynamic contact angles and surface free energy of solids. Being traditionial and well-proven, it has become the method of choice for many industrial standards related to characterization of liquids. It is also the most widely used technique for measuring critical micelle concentration (CMC) of surfactants, which can be performed automatically together with an autodispenser. In addition, it is the only method to determine absorption and contact angle in packed particle (powder) and fiber beds via the so-called Washburn method. Sedimentation and density measurements make up the full suite of available measurements that can be performed using the Sigma Series of instruments. Whatever your needs, from the most exacting research, to industrial quality and process control, there is a Sigma Instrument to meet your needs.

Sigma Series
Sigma 700 Sigma 700 tensiometer
A high-performance tensiometer for determination of surface tension (ST), interfacial tension (IT), dynamic contact angles (DCA), surfactant critical micelle concentration (CMC) and other standard ring or plate measurements.
Sigma 701 Sigma 701 tensiometer
A high-performance tensiometer for applications in industry, R&D and education. The excellent balance sensitivity enables DCA of single fibers and many other high-precision measurements.
Sigma 702 tensiometer
A stand-alone automatic tensiometer for measuring surface and interfacial tension.
Sigma 703D Sigma 703D tensiometer
A basic tensiometer designed for educational, industrial and other multiple user applications. The sigma 703D features a manual sample stage, and measures ST and IT quickly and easily.
