The simplicity and low cost of the CAM 100 can be explained by the compact digital video camera, which is used to obtain images for optical determination of Contact Angles and Surface Free Energy. Despite its simplicity, the CAM 100 has uncompromising performance. It is designed for ease of use in quality control as well as routine applications in industry, R&D and educational facilities.

The simple and intuitive construction of the Windows-based CAM 100 contact angle software allows the user to easily master the instrument.The software offers an effective means to organize, manipulate and display the measured data.  The measurement is observed in a live image window, and controlled using a parameter sub-window. Image capture, base-line definition and analysis are all automated and rapid. Surface Free Energy (SFE) calculation is included in the software, and provides results based on manual data entry. CAM 100 software runs on both laptop and desktop computers.

The newly developed "One Touch Dispenser" enables quick, easy and contamination free manual dispensing. The upper and lower position of the needle is set using the screw adjusters. A drop formed in the upper position remains well above the sample. Pressing the leaver to the lower position allows simple transfer of the drop to the surface, without the needle coming into direct contact. The auto-capture function of the software allows true one touch operation:

   Create drop - Push - Move sample - Repeat

Grid-lines on the display provide a tool for rapid estimation of the drop size.
